Practice of the Week: VRIKSHASANA (TREE POSE): Tree pose is a balance pose that builds our core strength and hip flexibility. But Vrikshasana gives us a chance to explore so many more elements of Yoga: Satya (honesty with ourselves), Santosha (contentment with reality), Pratyahara (mindfulness, being present), Pranayama (conscious breathing). To hold your balance requires being present in that moment, being aware of what your body can accomplish and its limitations, and most importantly, being okay with wobbling and stepping out when you need to.
