Flex & Flow Travel 23.01.2021
As we walked down to the waterfalls my mind was coming up with a list of reasons as to why I shouldn’t go swimming. The water was cold, the rocks were slippery, the mosquitos would bite me .. it was a struggle mentally. I’m always like this when it comes to most things, healthy eating, travel, exercise, meditation. Once I got down to the water, I quickly changed into my bikini and shut off my mind as I jumped into the freezing water. The next hour was magical as we took in o...ur surroundings and had fun together beneath the waterfall. Had I listened to the voice in my head, I would never have accomplished one of the best moments of our trip so far. Had I listened to my mind I would have been full of regret instead of giddy memories of time spent with my best friend. You will find a reason or a thousand reasons to not start something, because any change is hard when it comes to movement or eating healthy. But I’m telling you that fighting the resistance becomes easier the more you practice. Some days it will beat you, and that’s completely fine, but most days it won’t and as you begin to love the person you see in the mirror both inside and out, you’ll also be giddy with the feeling of what it’s finally like to truly love your life and the relationship you have with yourself. I’ve added 2 new 15 minute classes to the membership this week, because the first step doesn’t need to be dramatic and any time spent on nourishing our mind and body is better than nothing at all Lots of love, Laura x

Let’s talk FOOD! Food has been at times my nemesis and my best friend because of my mentality towards it. Through learning and a self need to change my perspective, I’m starting to understand that food isn’t a calorie or the number on a scale. It’s a vital part of our immune system, mental health and most importantly STAYING ALIVE! It can help fight against infection, disease, fatigue and viruses (there I said it). I really want to educate others as I learn about the differe...nt effects each food group has. Would you feel differently if you knew that eating potatoes can feed the good bacteria in your gut and help curb diabetes? And yet we all believe potatoes are the devil because they have a stigma associated with weight gain. I’m starting a nutrition blog on our website and will update it when I can, I’m hoping to go down this route when I reach Canada. My ethos at the moments it’s eating whole foods. That doesn’t mean the crappy salad from the canteen because you’re on a ‘diet’ .. no diets welcome here! Any questions or suggestions are though so feel free to get in touch

Sunday only means one thing, new classes being uploaded to the membership tomorrow! The hardest part about any class is the showing up, once you’re sat on your mat pressing play I guarantee you’ll move and you’ll feel amazing for it afterwards. As I included a lot of yang and more advanced yoga & fitness classes onto the membership last week, this week will focus on restorative & beginners classes.... One thing that makes this online platform worth the time and effort is to know that you get something out of it, and especially now when you need that escapism more than ever. Thank you for being amazing clients, friends and fellow yogis. This industry can be very hardcore and saturated, but knowing you’ve reached at least one person and made a difference be it small or large, makes it worth it!

Everyone has to start somewhere! I can remember when I finally started to attempt a headstand, I was so shaky and needed the wall. For ages I felt like my legs were straight when they weren’t, but with some gentle guidance and practice I’m nearly where I need to be!
