Tai Chi Tuesday - Class Tonight at 7:00 PM "Today's video is a demonstration of the Chen Tai Chi 19 posture routine we practice in class by another practitioner. I continue to send different people performing this same routine as to illustrate the minor differences that may manifest from various Tai Chi aficionados. I enjoy this performance because the demonstrator is very smooth and coordinated in his movements, though some minor angles of limbs and postures may depart from my own experience practicing this routine. #Repost @somaticexperiencingint Repost from @crazyheadcomics i, like most people it seems, have a complicated relationship with my body. mostly awful, honestly. i have spent a long time being upset at it, being upset because it’s riddled with chronic pain that makes life hard, upset because it doesn’t look like like bodies that are desirable in media. upset because it feels like you’re not allowed to exist or be happy in a body that isn’t up to society’s impossi...ble standards. upset because it feels like a personal failure to exist in an imperfect body. but i don’t ever stop to say thank you to it, and i really gotta start doing that. thank you to my hands for helping me make art, thank you to my face for being full of life and expression, thank you to my legs for being able to roller skate so fast it feels like i’m flying on pavement. thank you lungs for breathing in crisp autumn air every morning, thank you throat and mouth and lips for letting me speak my mind and stand up for myself. thank you fingers for being so steady, thank you eyes for allowing me to see beautiful things everyday. thank you feet for letting me feel grass between my toes when i’m barefoot outside. thank you stomach for all the yummy vegan delicacies we eat. thank you ears for for all the songs you’ve let me hear. thank you head for recovering after every migraine, even though i resent you sometimes, and thank you for all the ideas you give me. thank you thighs for keeping me warm in the swedish winters. thank you skin for all the sunburns and scars you’ve healed, you heal very fast and as a tattoo and piercing enthusiast, that’s hella good. thank you brain for getting better. thank you nose for letting me smell my boyfriend’s hair and fresh coffee and lavender. thank you nails for being so good at giving scratches. i’m sorry, body, for being so mean. i will thank you everyday for all you do for me. - # #quotes #kindness #gratitude #traumahealing #resiliency #therapists # See more
