Time to say Goodbye! Time waits for no man and indeed we are feeling it as we step into our 10th year together - as yoga buddies, Satya Yoga co-founders and yoga practitioners. It has been quite a ride looking back at what we have gone through.... Our first trip to Mysore in 2009 spun off trials and errors with our love for the practice. We have met so many kind and generous people along the way whom have extended their talents and friendships to help us grow and expand. The time has come for us to move on and recalibrate ourselves. Satya Yoga will cease operation by end of the month as we will be opening our new yoga shala - The Yoga Shala @ Rowell on 1st March. This marks a new milestone to our yoga journey where we will be co-teaching and sharing our experiences with our students and practitioners of Ashtanga Yoga. You are cordially invited to celebrate with us at our launch party on the 4th March. We would also like to invite you to visit our new Facebook page, The Yoga Shala Rowell - Singapore, to follow our updates and continue to support us! Last but not least, THANK YOU for being with us over the past decade - for your support, faith, trust, encouragement and belief in us. We will be looking forward to seeing you on the mat at our new shala soon! Love and gratitude, Adeline + Shirly

Dearest Ashtangis in Singapore: This is an informative platform for Ashtanga Yoga practitioners, teachers & schools in this city to support & share related events to the community. Please feel free to add your friends in this group!... See you!
Urban Ashtangis [ FEBRUARY ] brings you the latest inspiration from Batam! Meet Destiana Bourgeois, a dedicated and determined ashtangi who shows us that our mind is the only true obstacle in the practice. "The best thing about Mysore practice is that it has made me an independent practitioner. If we can commit to our daily practice we can see the improvement in the practice." -Destiana... #satyayoga #satyacommunity #urbanashtangis #realpeoplerealinspiration #getonthemat #ashtangayoga #noexcuse #selfmotivation #theyogashalasingapore #destianabourgeois #mindnotstiffbodystiff #dailypractice #reasonoverexcuse #realyoga #mysorepractice Adeline Lum Shirly Oh
We watched the kids at karate (smart-looking big boys as empires)! Celebrated X'mas with dancing, samosas and chocolate cake! Took some kids to Mysore zoo, followed by ice-cream galore ... ABC madam re-painted the girls' room, favourite madam Johan taught typing classes and sleepy madam busy tallying the funds! Not forgetting our sg friends who came by to spend time with the kids - Ann, Ch'ng Yah Ting, Chelsea, Paula and Minyi! And none of these would have been possible without the contributions from our friends and family! THANK YOU again for making each Mysore trip a memorable and meaningful one in every way! #mysore2017 #morethanyoga #operationshanti #everychildmatters #satyacommunity #satyayoga #growuptoofast #grateful #meaningmemories #whatmattersmost
Congrats to our Teacher Shirly Oh for being Authorised Teacher Level 2 at KPJAYI
There's a Chinese proverb loosely translated: He who teaches me for a day, is my father for lifetime. Gratitude for the 2 months of Mysore under the guidance of Sharathji @sharathjoisr . ... And of course our lovely teacher back home, James who has been guiding us for all these years. We are looking forward to going home and sharing our knowledge to our students #education #yoga #ashtanga #ashtangayoga #mysore #indian #singaporeans #theyogashala #learning #progress #practiceandalliscoming #goinghome #happy #grateful
You can't move forward if you keep going back...
Yoga is for everyone @lichellefisser contacted me last year because she had seen me doing so many one arm postures and she thought I might be able to help her.... Today she came to practice and she did a full Primary Series (and then afterwards we shot these videos working on backbends, and towards Handstand and push-ups). Before she started I asked, What do you do for sun salutations? She replied, The same as before. It was an inspiration to watch. As Lichelle chatted with us later what was most inspiring was her inner radiance and the light in her eyes. Later my wife, @deepikamehtayoga with tears in her eyes said, This shows that we are not the body, we are the spirit. Lichelle is a living example of that and I thank her for coming to teaxh me today - and I’m excited about her one arm Handstand journey! See more
No words can describe how grateful we are to be here! End of season, we are bring home our baggages as well as a bag full of knowledge! #Repost @sharathjoisr with @get_repost Today was last day of class in the Shala I was feeling so sad to say goodbye to my students I hope to see you’ll again soon. ... May God bless you’ll with lots of happiness & spiritual wisdom
When we say anyone can do yoga, we really mean anyone;)
The teacher can show you to the way, only the student can enter through the door himself/ herself. . . . No one can walk the path for you. No one can do the practice for you. No one can do your duty for you. ... But you can. Nobody can take credits for your effort. Nobody can take away your character. Nobody can take away your honesty & integrity. No body can reap the sow of your effort. Only you can! As @sadhguru said it very well " If you want to show your gratitude to your teacher... We start the opening chant with vande gurunam caranaravinde to give respect to the guru so that he can guide us through this sasra. The guru has gone through this process and has found a solution through yoga practice of how to gain certain steadiness in the mind and how to judge things.
