A recent Swedish study looked at the dynamics between waiting ovum and the sperm that swims towards it. Turns out the female egg is rather fussy. She doesn't just accept the fastest and most capable sperm. Instead, she is on the look out for only the highest quality sperm that ensures genetic diversity over attraction.
